A.T.A. Submits its 2025 Annual Report

A.t.a

On Monday, May 11, the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) submitted its 2025 annual report to the Minister of Tourism, Transportation, and Labor, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia, thereby complying with current regulations and the obligations stipulated in the Landsverordening instelling A.T.A. Sui Generis (National Ordinance Establishing A.T.A. Sui Generis). This marks another important step in A.T.A.’s trajectory as an autonomous entity that works consistently, responsibly, and with a future-oriented focus.

Since A.T.A. was established as an autonomous entity in 2011, the organization has complied every year with the timely submission of its annual report, which has undergone a financial audit process, among others, allowing for a clear and transparent view of financial management, the strategic direction that A.T.A. follows, and what was executed within this framework in 2025.

Vision: A Beautiful Aruba to Live in is a Beautiful Aruba to Visit

A key step in 2025 was the incorporation of A.T.A.’s 4th management plan, MACS (“Multi-Annual Corporate Strategy”), which consists of 4 stages ranging from responsible tourism to regenerative tourism. Stage 1 initiated in 2025. A summary of the strategy and priorities was submitted in the form of an A.T.A. Position Paper in February to the formateurs and subsequently to various key stakeholders. This document articulates the long-term vision and proposes a governance model at the governmental level, encouraging an inter-ministerial way of working where due focus is given to the tourism agenda.

The Annual Report also incorporates A.T.A.’s Sustainability Ambition, which aims to inspire, commit, and guide the organization in making decisions that put the preservation of Aruba’s environment, culture, and quality of life first. Examples of steps taken in 2025 are provided.

Additionally, A.T.A. continued to strengthen the quality of our destination, focusing on safety, as well as public and recreational spaces in Aruba. Through the coordinated improvement of trails, coastal areas, public services, and cultural sites, A.T.A. contributed to the sustainable management of our island’s shared resources, supporting a more balanced and meaningful visitor experience with benefits for both the local community and guests.

Strategic Agreements and Collaboration with Local Partners Remained Key

During 2025, A.T.A. continued to implement and support various sustainable tourism initiatives, including strategic collaborations with partners such as the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF), Aruba Hospitality & Security Foundation, Aruba Excellence Foundation, CEDE Aruba, Stimami Sterilisami, Go Cultura Foundation, Aruban Olympic Committee (COA), Fundacion Chico Harms, Colegio EPI/SEPB, and other public and private stakeholders. Local focus was also increased through awareness campaigns such as BanSerio, which helped foster positive behaviors and a sense of shared responsibility among residents.

Research, advising, and advocacy continued to form a central part of A.T.A.’s work, reaffirming its commitment to responsible destination management and a social, environmental, and economic balance for the benefit of present and future generations, as well as our community and guests.

Complete Shift in International Communication Strategy

The 2025 Annual Report reflects a conscious and deliberate shift in the way A.T.A. approaches international marketing, promotion, and communication. With the continuous evolution of its strategy last year, it launched “When you Love Aruba, It Loves You Back.” This approach is part of the recognition that responsible tourism is not an option but a global imperative, marking a transition from transactional tourism to a model based on value, quality, and positive impact. Aruba communicates this to potential guests before they even decide to choose Aruba.

2025 Tourism Results

A.T.A. observed that Aruba’s tourism performance in the year 2025 was strong, even while focusing on stabilizing the volume of visitors, attempting to limit it, and increasing value! It must be noted that the island received 1,515,102 stayover guests last year, representing a 7% increase compared to 2024 and surpassing the projection for 2025. Tourism revenue reached approximately Afl. 5.6 billion, an 8% increase compared to the previous year, with an average daily guest expenditure reaching around Afl. 550 per day.

Expressions of Gratitude

Thanks are extended to the A.T.A. team in Aruba and across the different international markets for the immense efforts displayed in 2025. Gratitude is also extended to the A.T.A. Supervisory Board for their diligence and dedication in 2025 and as part of the approval process for A.T.A.’s 2025 Annual Report. Furthermore, independent firm Ernst & Young is thanked for their work and collaboration to achieve yet another annual report with an unqualified opinion (“goedkeurende verklaring”) on their part.
