From October 27 to November 2, 2025, Team Aruba will participate in the Pickleball World Cup 2025 at The Fort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, joining 67 other nations in this prestigious global event.
Team Aruba is composed of: Jason Farro, Derrick Hernandez, Michaëllo “Matrix” Martilia (Team Captain), Jan “Martin” Appeldoorn, Mel Paskel, Yi Yu “Amira” Chen, Luigi Heredia, Derrick Lopez, Yandric Webb, Joselyn Farro, and David Puriel (Player + Coach).
The tournament features two major events in one: the International Pickleball Tournament 2025, open to all levels of play, and the Pickleball World Cup 2025, where the top players from each country — with a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) of 5.5 — compete to represent their nations.
Team Aruba’s message is one of unity and pride: let’s all come together to support our local athletes — not only in pickleball but in every sport where we represent our beloved island! Let’s lift each other up! Aruba, Ariba!
