On behalf of the Government of Aruba and the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Minister Wendrick Cicilia proudly acknowledges the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA N.V.).
The signing was led by James Fazio, Acting Executive Director of AAA N.V., and Diane Sabatino, Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner (EAC) of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
This agreement reinforces the long-standing partnership between Aruba and the United States in advancing border security and operational excellence at Queen Beatrix International Airport. It also highlights Aruba’s continued leadership in aviation security and its proactive role in regional collaboration.
As part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), CBP’s primary mission is to ensure safe and secure borders. The Caribbean region is regarded as a strategic extension of this security domain, with Aruba recognized as a proactive leader in security operations and preclearance initiatives.
Aligned with the U.S. government’s emphasis on security, this partnership demonstrates how regional cooperation can serve as a model for effective and trusted border management.
Minister Wendrick Cicilia stated:
