Career Project launches first artist: Yajro debuts with Krioyo song “Kabe’ pabou”

Yajro Yerson Rosalina

The Career Project powered by Fonds Podium Kunsten proudly launches its first
musical talent: Yerson Rosalina, known as Yajro. A young artist recently settled on Bonaire and working professionally as a social worker, he decided to take his musical hobby further. Under the guidance of mentor Xemio Jacobs, Yajro embraced the challenge to sing Krioyo music just in time for Cultural Month and Rincon Day.

The song “Kabe’ pabou” is a tribute to the village of Rincon and reflects Yajro’s personal experience as a young man from Curaçao living in Bonaire. It narrates the moment he learns about Rincon and starts his adventure “going down to Kabe’ pabou.” The lyrics describe how to get there, what to expect, and how to celebrate the culture and spirit of Rincon.

Yajro says: “The rhythm is super catchy. I’ve learned so much and felt the swing of singing inbKrioyo. I definitely want to join Kanto Krioyo next year!”

The Career Project, an initiative of the ACE Foundation, gives youth and adults the chance to pursue their dream of becoming a singer. More talents will be launched soon, and a music video is also on the way.
