It is no secret that the AVP–FUTURO government is run solely by FUTURO ministers—the minority that the people voted for. Today, once again, we witness their fear of democratic checks and balances, as they prefer to operate in the dark and do whatever they please without proper oversight.
This applies to both the chairmanship of the elderly care committee, which was taken from PPA last year, and the chairmanship of the finance committee, which was taken from MEP today. Apparently, there is still a hidden agenda and a forced push to pass the HOFA. Is Minister Geoffrey Wever’s malice not obvious? Squeezing every department dry without offering support so they collapse on their own, using it as an excuse to introduce HOFA. Yet at the same time, Minister Geoffrey Wever shows himself to be a coward who, to this day, has failed to account to the people and the Parliament of Aruba regarding the true intentions and negotiations surrounding HOFA. Meanwhile, Minister Gerlien Croes lies endlessly and presents fictitious figures to confuse the public.
Can a leader who does not have the people of Aruba at heart—holding public funds hostage instead of allocating them properly to ministries for community projects, thereby indirectly crushing the people of Aruba—really be considered a good example or a minister who wants to see Aruba progress?
Malicious, behind-the-scenes plans to implement HOFA are still underway, masterminded by Minister Geoffrey Wever and Gerlien Croes. Further proof of this is the taking of the finance committee, where AVP–FUTURO puppets follow government orders just to keep their seats, acting as followers with no principles to make independent decisions or truly work on their own to serve the people of Aruba.
Both the elderly care and finance committees have been hijacked by the FUTURO faction—a clear reflection of their fear of being properly held accountable.
