In August 2025, the rehabilitation project of Taxiway Golf began. The taxiway, originally constructed in 1997, has now undergone a full renovation.
Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor, Wendrick Cicilia, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony together with Interim CEO James Fazio of Aruba Airport Authority N.V.
On October 24, 2025, the official reopening of Taxiway Golf took place after a thorough renewal process.
The day before, on October 23, the Department of Civil Aviation (DAC) granted final approval following multiple inspection stages, allowing Taxiway Golf to resume operations.
“The reopening of Taxiway Golf is part of our ongoing efforts to prepare for the winter season, as the demand for airport facilities continues to grow,” stated Minister Wendrick Cicilia.
With the upcoming high season approaching, an increase in flight activity and air traffic is expected. The reopening of Taxiway Golf will enhance operational efficiency, reduce congestion, and ensure a smoother flow of aircraft, helping Aruba prepare for what promises to be a successful season.
Minister Cicilia also announced that a sixth security lane will be added in November to improve passenger flow and enhance the overall travel experience.
Finally, Minister Cicilia expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in the execution of the Taxiway Golf rehabilitation project.
