In a swift and coordinated operation, the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) managed to neutralize a serious threat last Friday, following information regarding the possession of an illegal firearm in circulation.
The case began when the police command center received a notification that an individual was in possession of a firearm. The authorities’ reaction was immediate. Police managed to locate the vehicle in which the suspects were traveling and blocked it on Kaya Industria.
Arrest and confiscation During the vehicle check on Kaya Industria, officers found a firearm. This led to the arrest of the two occupants of the car: a 60-year-old man with the initials A.M.D.G.N. and a 37-year-old man with the initials S.V. Both are suspected of violating the BES Firearms Act.
The vehicle in which the suspects were driving was confiscated, along with other items considered important for the ongoing investigation.
Additional judicial entries The investigation did not end at Kaya Industria. During the afternoon, the investigation team exercised further authority by conducting two judicial searches: one in the Playa neighborhood and the other in the Mexico neighborhood.
According to preliminary information, during these searches, police also confiscated various items related to this case. The investigation is in full swing, and authorities do not rule out further arrests or the collection of additional evidence.
This action demonstrates, once again, the police force’s determination to confront the illegal possession of firearms on the island. The KPCN appeals to the community to contact the police with any information related to this case or other suspicious activity to ensure safety in our neighborhoods.
Investigation continues.
