Transparency and compliance with the rules of good governance are essential to maintain community trust. Within this framework, Member of Parliament Rocco Tjon expressed his concern regarding the lack of publication of the LAR advice, related to the use of public funds for a private jet trip.

Tjon pointed out that on July 10, the LAR Objection Advisory Committee (Bezwaaradviescommissie LAR) delivered its official advice to the Minister in charge of Education, Gerlien Croes, regarding the objection (bezwaar) filed on March 30, 2026. According to the LAR letter, the Minister must deliver a copy of the advice to the concerned parties.

However, MP Tjon emphasized that more than 10 days have already passed and to this day the Minister has not sent the copy nor published this advice.

The minister has 6 weeks to decide, but the obligation established in the Constitution to provide information to Parliament and the people cannot wait. The people of Aruba have every right to know what the official LAR advice contains. The obligation to share this is not optional. It is a legal obligation. To this day, the Minister has not complied with it.
