The Institute for a Healthy and Active Life (IBiSA) is in full preparation for a very special edition of its signature event, Aruba Activo, which this year marks a historical milestone: the celebration of the institute’s 50th anniversary (formerly known as IDEFRE).
This major ARUBA ACTIVO event will take place on September 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, offering a diverse and interactive program dedicated to encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle for the entire Aruban community across all age groups. CAYA ACTIVO, a sub-event on this day, will close the road from Banco di Caribe to Bushiri Beach from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM for anyone wishing to engage in outdoor sports, after which the main Aruba Activo programming activates at 9:00 AM.
Throughout the day, sports and active-living enthusiasts can enjoy and participate in a wide variety of athletic disciplines along the beach and in designated areas. Key activities include:

Special participation by FAVI As part of IBiSA’s mission to include every citizen in physical activity and recreation, this edition places a strong focus on inclusion. We are proud to announce that the Aruban Foundation for the Visually Impaired (FAVI) will be present with domino tables and sets specifically designed for individuals with visual impairments.
IBiSA and FAVI extend a warm and special invitation to all individuals with visual impairments to come out, participate, and actively enjoy these domino competitions adapted especially for them.
50 Years dedicated to the community This 50th-anniversary edition represents five decades of continuous dedication by the institute toward promoting physical activity, sports, and health within Aruba’s community. Guided by its vision for a “healthy and active Aruba,” IBiSA invites the entire population—of all ages and abilities—to come together, celebrate this milestone, and enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends.
