The Lions Club successfully organized the “Walk for Health and Well-Being” at Linear Park. The event brought together families, friends, and members of the community for an afternoon dedicated to movement, social awareness, and community solidarity.
The program began with great enthusiasm with a Zumba warm-up, led by Thyara Doornkamp, who prepared the participants physically and mentally for the walk. Her energy and enthusiasm contributed significantly to creating a positive, inclusive, and lively atmosphere, where the promotion of physical health and community well-being was central. Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club extends a special thank-you to Thyara Doornkamp for her professional and motivating contribution.
During the walk, each participant was free to walk for a cause of their choice, such as diabetes, cancer awareness, mental health, vision, the environment, youth, humanitarian aid, and hunger relief. This promoted awareness of various social needs and strengthened the sense of community commitment and responsibility.
At the end of the activity, all participants received a beautiful commemorative medal, along with a banana and water, encouraging everyone to continue promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club expresses special gratitude to the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), Kong Hing Wholesale, Compra NV, Sandra’s Garden, and the general press for their valuable contributions and cooperation, which made the success of the event possible. A sincere thank-you also goes to everyone who made donations to our community projects for December 2025, which focus on supporting families in need during the Christmas season.
Special recognition goes to young student Joshua Muyden from EPI – Hospitality Sector, who participated as a volunteer during the event as part of his school project. Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club wishes our friend Joshua great success in his studies and professional development.
With the Walk for Health and Well-Being, Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club reaffirms its commitment to the 9 Global Causes of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF): Diabetes, Vision, Childhood Cancer, Hunger, Environment, Humanitarian Aid, Mental Health, Youth, and Humanitarian Disaster Relief. Through initiatives like this, the club continues to strengthen its mission of service and positive impact within our community.
