Receptions take place in various locations, often using one of the palaces. For example, the traditional New Year’s reception for Dutch guests and foreign diplomats takes place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Huis ten Bosch Palace and Noordeinde Palace are used for audiences. This is the first time that the European Parliament has voted on the issue. Foto ©ANP / Patrick van Katwijk
