DBB Urges citizens to avoid travel to the middle east

East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, through the Department of Foreign Relations of Aruba (DBB), is issuing an urgent advisory to all citizens to avoid travel to the Middle East. This call comes as a result of the high security risks currently affecting the region.

Risks and Current Situation

The situation in the Middle East remains extremely tense and unpredictable. There is a real risk of airspace closures and flight cancellations without prior notice. In addition, foreigners — including citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands — face an increased risk of arbitrary detention.

It should also be noted that, in crisis situations, the capacity of the Dutch Embassy to provide consular assistance may be very limited or even unavailable. This warning particularly applies to travel to Iran, Israel, Iraq, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, and the islands of Abu Musa and Tunb.

Urgent Instruction: Crisis Contact Form (Deadline March 6)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands advises anyone already in the region to assess their situation and leave the area if possible in a safe and controlled manner.

Currently, the Crisis Contact Form is being used for individuals who are stranded in the following territories: Israel, the Palestinian Territories (West Bank), Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Crisis Contact Form can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands via the following link:
https://www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl/crisis/formulier

  • Deadline: The form will close on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Netherlands time).
  • Conditions: The form may only be completed if you are stranded in the countries mentioned above and you reside in the Netherlands or in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (such as Aruba), and you hold Dutch nationality (or are the partner/child of someone with Dutch nationality).

Assistance and Registration

To stay informed of the latest developments, it is crucial to register through the Information Service:

Those in need of assistance may contact the 24-hour contact center at: +31 247 247 247.
