While basic public services and infrastructure in neighborhoods suffer from a lack of maintenance, the prioritization of government attention on private property raises legal doubts regarding the illegality and legitimacy of the use of public resources.
The AVP-FUTURO government is practicing a political system similar to Cuba’s, making the people dependent on a government instead of giving them the tools to become independent. It is a socialist political system, speaking sweet words and throwing sand in people’s eyes, but looking at the effect of reality, we can see how other countries like Cuba and Venezuela ended up. Is this what we want for Aruba? Is this the path that AVP-FUTURO desires for the fractured future of Aruba? But at the same time, where is the people’s money going?
In the chain of managing public funds, the principles of transparency and accountability are central. The essence of the discussion is not the help itself, but rather the “legal basis” and the “administrative procedure” that support these actions. Whether these are public funds or personal funds under government contract, there must be a clear legal basis for the allocation of funds and the selection of beneficiaries. Without a transparent management framework, this action could be considered a violation of the principles of equality and the code of conduct for government officials.
