The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) reaffirms its commitment to providing a safe, attractive, and high-quality destination for both residents and visitors through its support of the Downtown Oranjestad Security & Safety Initiative.
Downtown Oranjestad is the historical and commercial heart of Aruba. Investing in security and protection in this area is essential to sustain downtown revitalization, support the local economy, and maintain Aruba’s reputation as a safe and appealing destination. The new camera and public-address system assists in incident prevention, enables faster intervention during critical situations, and contributes to effective communication with the public when necessary.
For A.T.A., safety in public areas is an essential element of the overall Aruba destination experience. A secure city center contributes not only to the well-being of residents but also to the confidence of visitors. A.T.A. provided support for this initiative, resulting in the provision of materials and installation.
About the Downtown Oranjestad Security & Safety Initiative The initiative was led by the Oranjestad Business Improvement Zone (OBIZ), in collaboration with A.T.A. and the Government of Aruba. The implementation of the new security camera system and public-address speakers at various strategic points in downtown Oranjestad was recently completed.
The project was executed by Prorisk Security Management N.V., also known as Bossi Security, in close collaboration with businesses and merchants in downtown Oranjestad. The system includes 41 new security cameras, 10 networked public speakers, and integration with existing infrastructure. The entire system is connected to a Monitoring Center that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This initiative was implemented in cooperation with the Aruba Police Force (KPA), which appreciates the positive contribution to reinforcing security and protection in the center of Oranjestad.
Through its support of this initiative, A.T.A. continues to work actively with public and private partners to elevate the quality of life, reinforce destination safety, and ensure that Aruba remains a place where safety and hospitality go hand in hand.
