The Aruba government continues to strengthen its efforts to assist street addicts who are not willing to participate in rehabilitation programs. According to Minister of Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management, Mervin Wyatt-Ras, the initiative by Stichting HUNTO has shown that providing on-the-street assistance is of great importance in the community.

Minister Wyatt-Ras emphasized that, during the process, some participants achieve significant benefits, while others do not reach the desired results. Nevertheless, the minister stressed that the most important goal is to offer everyone interested the possibility of change and to provide hope for a better future.

The government is working on another building that will serve as an additional space where street addicts can receive attention, guidance, and support in a safe and structured environment.
