Investment Fund Law approved by government puppets with a minimal majority in the Parliament of Aruba

Ley Di Fondo Di Inversion A Wordo Aproba Pa Marionetanan Di Gobierno Un Mayoria Minimo Den Parlamento Di Aruba

MEP faction leader in the Parliament of Aruba, Evelyn Wever-Croes, voices her regret that an investment fund was approved with a minimal majority in the Parliament of Aruba—a weak parliament and a very weak government, but one that is causing great harm to future generations.

These few parliamentarians have decided to lead the country of Aruba in a negative direction. However, the MEP faction leader commits that the first thing she will do upon returning to government is to change the law and introduce the Checks and Balances that the Algemene Rekenkamer (General Audit Chamber) and the Raad van Advies (Advisory Council) advised to include. She will do this because the MEP is focused on doing what is right for the country of Aruba.

At the same time, the MEP faction leader indicates that she will sit back and watch which will be the next policy to fall due to corruption, whether it be a minister or more than one parliamentarian. This is not an excuse, but the reality that when one interferes in government departments to fix one’s own affairs, one will see how they end up.

Throughout this meeting, according to the MEP faction leader, AVP leader Mike Eman committed to the fact that, before any change, the HOFA as we know it will not proceed. Prime Minister of Aruba Mike Eman committed that he would go to negotiate and make changes based on the advice that the Raad van Advies and the Raad van State (Council of State) have provided. Prime Minister Mike Eman also committed to coming forward before final decisions are made.

Prime Minister Eman has surrendered, and is still pushing to surrender, the country of Aruba to the Netherlands; that will remain on his conscience for the rest of his life, and the life force of a people is not something to be played with. MEP faction leader Evelyn Wever-Croes makes an appeal to Prime Minister Mike Eman not to betray the struggle of Aruba and not to betray the legacy of his own family, nor that of the Croes family, nor that of the people of Aruba.

The struggle of Eman and Croes determined the DNA of the country of Aruba, which is a fighting people, proud of everything we have achieved; do not let anyone destroy it, is how MEP faction leader Evelyn Wever-Croes addressed Prime Minister Mike Eman. Do not let the Netherlands, nor a couple of capitulating Arubans who are in government at this moment, do it.

The essential question is: why give The Hague the final word on our public finances precisely now that we have proven that we can do it ourselves?
