Is AVP repeating the history of corruption with the funds of the Country of Aruba? During a recent meeting in Parliament, Member of Parliament Endy Croes expressed serious concerns regarding the current legislative proposal and the management the Government of Aruba is exercising in relation to an investment fund.
Criticism of process and transparency According to the MP, the Government of Aruba is seizing an opportunity that fails to meet the necessary legal procedures. Croes argued that the current proposal does not respect the advice provided and lacks being “strict and clear” (as required by the parliamentary process) in its execution. Is the focus being shifted away from Parliament regarding investments to favor the contacts and merchant friends of Minister Geoffrey Wever? All this with the support of AVP and FUTURO parliamentarians, whom he dubbed puppets of the Aruba government.
One of the central points of his criticism is that the revenues are not anchored in law, which creates legal uncertainty in the management of the funds.
Concerns over control and Article 7 MP Croes emphasized the deficiencies in Article 7 of the law. According to Croes, the current structure does not offer the Staten (Parliament) the necessary capacity to effectively control the distribution of income and expenditures.

The MP maintains that the current process requires a deep revision to ensure that everything is carried out according to established rules, avoiding the involvement of entities that do not exist or have not yet received approval in the management of public funds.
