The Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transport, and Energy, mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, has a full agenda during his visit to Curaçao, during which the official has held various meetings and visits with authorities and representatives in the justice sector.
Following his meeting with H.E. the Governor of Curaçao, mr. Mauritsz de Kort, Minister Dowers continued his agenda with a visit to the newly sworn-in President of the Joint Court of Justice (Gemeenschappelijk Hof van Justitie), mr. Carmelia.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects related to the administration of justice and the importance of maintaining close contact and cooperation between Aruba and Curaçao.
Minister Dowers continued his program with a visit to the Ministry of Justice of Curaçao, where Ms. Luz-Celeste Johannes, Policy Director (Beleidsdirecteur) of the Ministry of Justice of Curaçao, received Aruba’s Minister of Justice.
After a brief encounter with part of the ministry’s team, Minister Dowers received an extensive presentation regarding the Ministry of Justice of Curaçao, its organizational structure, and the various tasks carried out by the ministry.
The presentation fostered good interaction between Minister Dowers and the Ministry of Justice team, with both Minister Dowers and the team exchanging ideas and experiences on various aspects related to the work of the justice ministries of both countries.
The visit to the Ministry of Justice of Curaçao also provides an opportunity to get a closer look at how the Curaçao ministry functions, its various departments, and the work they perform in the field of justice.
The various meetings and visits held by Minister Dowers during his stay in Curaçao are part of his agenda within the framework of the Judicial Four-Party Consultation (Justitieel Vierlandenoverleg), where he represents Aruba alongside his colleagues from Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands.
Through these various encounters, Aruba continues to maintain direct contact with the different authorities and agencies in the area of justice, with the goal of exchanging experiences and further strengthening cooperation between the countries within the Kingdom.
