Tourism Corporation Bonaire Announces Bonaire Friends for March and April 2026

Bonaire Friends March Pastor Mark 1

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) is pleased to recognize several members of the Bonaire community as Bonaire Friends for March and April 2026, in appreciation of their compassion, hospitality, professionalism, and positive impact on visitors to the island.

Recognized for March are Pastor Marc, Dianne Pourier, and Rene Sedney, along with a local detective who provided exceptional support and care to a visitor in a difficult situation. Through their actions, they reflected the warmth, empathy, and strong sense of community that Bonaire is known for.

The March submission highlighted not only the professionalism of those involved but also the genuine humanity, compassion, and support shown by members of the Bonaire community in the aftermath of a tragic event. Their kindness and care provided comfort during a period of loss and left a meaningful and lasting impression on the visitor involved.

For April, TCB proudly recognizes Ralph “Moogie” Stewart, nominated by visitor Nancy Louth from the United States, for his longstanding dedication to creating memorable experiences for visitors and locals alike.

According to the nomination, Moogie has become one of the most recognizable and welcoming personalities on Bonaire through his live music performances and warm interactions with visitors over many years. His music, energy, and personal approach help create a festive and welcoming atmosphere where visitors feel at home and connected to the spirit of the island.

Beyond entertaining visitors, Moogie was also recognized for his continued efforts in preserving and honoring Bonaire’s culture, history, and environmental legacy, including his involvement in activities connected to the legacy of Captain Don Stewart.

“The experiences visitors remember most often come from the people they meet. Through Bonaire Friends, we recognize and celebrate individuals whose kindness, hospitality, and dedication leave a lasting impression on our visitors while reflecting the warmth that makes Bonaire truly special. Their actions remind us that tourism is ultimately about people and the meaningful connections they create,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of TCB.

Through the Bonaire Friends initiative, visitors are invited to share positive stories about locals who made a meaningful impact during their stay on Bonaire. Each month, individuals are recognized for helping create authentic and memorable experiences that reflect the island’s unique character and hospitality.

TCB would like to thank the Bonaire Friends recognized this month for their kindness, dedication, and positive representation of Bonaire. Their actions continue to leave a lasting impression on visitors and contribute to making Bonaire a truly special destination. TCB looks forward to celebrating more local heroes throughout the year.

Visitors are encouraged to continue sharing their positive stories via www.bonaireisland.com.
