The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) announces that April 13, 2026, various restoration and maintenance works had at Rodger’s Beach, with a provisional completion date set for late June 2026. This project is part of A.T.A.’s ongoing commitment to public safety and the improvement of high-quality public spaces for both the community and visitors.

Restoration and Maintenance of the Pier and Diving Platform Rodger’s Beach is a recreational site of great value to the local community and tourists, offering a space to relax, swim, and enjoy various leisure activities. The pier and diving platform are iconic features of the beach and have been used constantly for many years. Due to natural wear, prolonged exposure to weather conditions, and the marine environment, these structures have gradually deteriorated, necessitating maintenance and restoration.

With the goal of improving safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability, A.T.A. is investing in a general maintenance and restoration project focused on the pier. The diving platform will also be restored, with an emphasis on reinforcing the structures and improving their resistance to the marine environment. The goal is to ensure that everyone can continue to enjoy Rodger’s Beach in a safe and well-maintained environment. The project will be executed by Varadero N.V. in conjunction with ACE Engineering as project management. Coordination and financing are handled by A.T.A.

All work will be performed on-site, with planning designed to minimize inconvenience and public access interruptions. As Rodger’s Beach is a protected marine area, the contractor will take maximum caution to protect the environment, ensuring all activities are conducted responsibly.

Reconstruction of the Facility Building The current facility building is in poor structural condition and will be demolished and rebuilt. Construction is scheduled to start on Monday, April 20, 2026, lasting approximately 60 working days. The new building will be reconstructed at its current site in the style that users have come to appreciate, ensuring it remains for future generations.

The new facility will be built using durable, low-maintenance materials suited for coastal conditions. The design also considers accessibility to allow for broader and safer public use. Furthermore, the surrounding area will include the planting of native Seagrape trees (Cocoloba Uvifera), which adapt well to the coast and support responsible land management.

During the construction period, safety remains a priority. The public is asked to respect all signs and safety instructions. This project is a collaboration with the Government of Aruba as the client, A.T.A. for financing, ALBO Aruba N.V. as the contractor, and the Department of Public Works (DOW) for design and supervision.
