It was a huge surprise for nursing assistant Theresa Sanchez, from department B4, when she entered the meeting room. Waiting for her were her family, various colleagues, members of the Board of Directors, and Yuri Casseres, all of whom shouted “surprise!” Theresa was startled for a moment but went on to enjoy a wonderful day that she will certainly never forget. Theresa was put in the spotlight for the exemplary work she does at HOH, which earned her the well-deserved title of HOH Employee of the Month for June.
Theresa works with dedication for her patients, always providing high-quality care. She is always ready to help, is kind, and treats patients and their families with great respect. She is a reliable and professional colleague who remains calm and listens with great attention to all the concerns of the patients and/or their families. The way Theresa treats her patients makes them feel safe and heard. Theresa’s goal is for her patients to feel as much at home as possible.
In addition to treating her patients with great love, Theresa takes the initiative to develop herself while actively contributing to improvements on the ward. She inspires and motivates other colleagues to participate in activities and is a true team player. Her presence on the ward brings positivity to a good working environment. Theresa is also an “ambassador” for hygiene and infection prevention, which she takes very seriously. She is an example not only to many of her colleagues but also to the students on B4, whom she guides and teaches in a calm manner, sharing her knowledge and experience as much as she can.
Theresa’s commitment to following all protocols and ensuring high-quality patient care is to be admired. Theresa is a colleague who makes a difference every day and is clearly an exemplary colleague who deserves this beautiful recognition.
