On February 9, 2026, we stand still to commemorate a very special date in the political history of our country. Our party, Movimiento Electoral di Pueblo (MEP), is celebrating 55 years of existence.
As a proud member of this family, I want to share the joy and gratitude that this anniversary brings with it.
Why do we feel proud?
For more than half a century, MEP has not just been a political party, but the driving force behind Aruba’s transformation. We have many reasons to celebrate with pride. The struggle for our freedom is certainly one of them: MEP is the party that led the battle for us to achieve our Status Aparte. Thanks to the vision of our Liberator Betico Croes and the determination of MEP, today we have our own identity and autonomy.
At the same time, as a member of MEP I am proud that we are a resilient party with stability: for 55 years, we have known how to navigate difficult times, always with the goal of protecting the well-being of our people and ensuring a strong and sustainable economy.
Even more clearly, I am proud to be part of a family that stands for social justice: the heart of MEP has always been the human being. Our pride comes from the constant struggle for equality, education, and the rights of those who need it most.
At the same time, our party has shown continuity in leadership: we have demonstrated that we can evolve with time, maintaining our principles firmly while opening doors to new generations who want to work for Aruba’s future.
A Commitment to the Future
These 55 years are not just a look in the mirror of the past, but a push toward what is yet to come. As a member of this party, my commitment remains firm to continue working with the same passion and integrity that founded our movement.
We celebrate the history written by our prestigious party, and we are ready to continue working on the next chapter. We will continue to stand for our Status Aparte and to be Boss in our own house!
Congratulations to all leaders, directors, activists, and supporters of MEP!
