Ruthlyn Lindor (FUTURO) supporting the AVP–FUTURO government without realizing that AVP itself caused the delays in the annual accounts during their previous administration

Ruthlyn Lindor 1

The leader of the FUTURO faction, Ruthlyn Lindor, states that the annual account is from 2019, and that Aruba is therefore very late with its annual reporting. From 2013 to 2015 all annual accounts were processed on time, and since 2017 this has no longer happened, according to the FUTURO faction leader.

However, Ms. Lindor forgets the period from 2015 to 2017, when Aruba’s financial disaster began under that same AVP government , the same government with which her party FUTURO now forms the AVP–FUTURO coalition , which is the reason Aruba is now behind with its annual accounts.

This caused the annual accounts of 2016, 2017, and 2018 to be handled only in 2020, during the pandemic, when the MEP government worked hard to restore Aruba’s financial situation.
Still, the FUTURO faction leader says she has not yet heard that by 2019 Aruba was already under RAFT and LAFT, meaning that Aruba was under financial supervision. According to her, the opposition does not explain this.

However, it should be noted that the FUTURO faction leader, Ruthlyn Lindor, clearly does not know the history of why Aruba has financial supervision: it began in 2015 under the AVP government, when the Governor of Aruba refused to sign the budget due to the unrealistic financial situation at that time. The Netherlands then intervened strongly with the prime minister of that period, the same person who is again prime minister today ,supported by the same FUTURO party of which parliamentarian Ruthlyn Lindor herself is a member, while she apparently does not know or does not understand why Aruba remains under financial supervision today, and why certain investments could not be made just to “put on a show.”
