During the most recent meeting on the Kingdom Act, Parliamentarian Carlos Bermudez stated that it was a very positive meeting, and this is exactly what he wants to highlight: that cooperation is possible. In an interview, Bermudez explained that the questions raised about the Kingdom Act were very valid and that the remarks made are important to take into account.
He emphasized that parliamentarians are the example for the people, and therefore the mindset of civil servants must change. Every civil servant must clearly understand that they do not work for any political color, but that their duty is to serve the people of Aruba. They should not judge individuals based on their political affiliation but must provide the services to which citizens are entitled.
Civil servants sometimes forget that the people — the ones they are supposed to serve — are ultimately the ones who pay their salaries.
