Yesterday afternoon, during the news on channel 88.9, through the program Enfoke, Patrick Paskel mentioned that my person was detained by the Landsrecherche while I was exercising my function in the Police Corps.
In addition, Patrick Paskel said that this would have to do with a case where the police would have given classified information and received money for it, and that my person would have participated in this type of act.
By this statement, I categorically deny everything that was brought forward during the Enfoque program. I was never arrested or involved (either as a suspect or as a witness) in this case. My person has not been involved in any case where a police officer would pay another police officer to receive any kind of information. I was never detained by the Secret Service, certainly not because of my lack of integrity in my former position.
It is a shameful lie to be repeated, so a criminal complaint will be duly lodged against it. This type of deception tarnishes my image of credibility as a person and as Minister of Justice and Social Affairs, simply to create anger in the community and to sow discord. Press release
