Mr. Ben Rasmussen, son of the late Belva Rasmussen Henriquez, established the Belva Rasmussen Henriquez Fund (FoN), in collaboration with the Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied (CCG). This new initiative honors the memory of his mother, a passionate cultural advocate and a lifelong supporter of Aruba. The fund aims to support Exceptional Emerging Contemporary Artists in Aruba and continues Ben’s commitment to giving back to the community—a value instilled in him during his career in banking.
Starting May 6th, 2025, the Belva Rasmussen Henriquez FoN will provide a significant boost to Aruba’s contemporary art scene. Each year, the fund will present the Belva-Award – a XCG 10,000 prize – to a promising emerging artist from Aruba. This award is designed to foster creativity and provide vital financial support for artistic development.
How to Apply
Artists can apply annually between July 1 – September 1 through the CCG’s digital portal. Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing their work and a biography. A selection committee of art and culture experts will evaluate all submissions based on originality, impact, and future potential.
Award Details:
The Belva-Award of XCG 10,000 will be awarded to one artist each year.
The prize is intended for the development of an artistic project or professional growth. Artists are eligible for the award once every five years.
Award Ceremony:
