Member of Parliament Endy Croes : “Futuro gives the orders and AVP obeys like a little child”

Endy Croes

Member of Parliament Endy Croes has launched strong criticism regarding the way Aruba is currently being governed. According to Croes, it is unbelievable that the largest party, AVP, has become a “marionette” in the hands of the Futuro party. While Gerlien Croes and Geoffrey Wever dictate what must happen, AVP simply says “Amen” to everything, regardless of whether they are selling our autonomy and our future.

Two Ministers Who Control Everything

MP Croes explained that he has never seen AVP this weak. Since 2025, it has become clear that Minister Gerlien Croes and Minister Geoffrey Wever are the ones running this Cabinet.

“Gerlien Croes, who already has the reputation of hiding the truth (like the private jet issue), together with Geoffrey Wever, who wants to dig into everyone’s pockets without concern, are the ones making all the decisions,” Croes declared.

According to the MP, these two Futuro ministers are pushing to hand over Aruba’s autonomy to the Netherlands through the Rijkswet HOFA, while AVP remains complicit in silence.

Selling Our Autonomy “Like a Thief in the Night”

Croes reminded the public that the signing of the Rijkswet HOFA was done in secrecy from Parliament, almost like a thief in the night. MEP took action and gathered more than 10,000 signatures from citizens who do not give permission to sell our autonomy.

Even during the IPKO meetings, Dutch parliamentarians themselves questioned why Futuro members Muzaninn and Lindor were so eager and forceful in bringing forward this law.

“It is a disgrace that a person with barely 70 votes wants to sell the struggle of this country, but we are confident that there are more than 11 Members of Parliament who will stop this in the end,” Endy Croes emphasized.

Government Wants to Dismantle Our OIL Opportunity

Another concern for MEP is the neglect of our economy. Mike Eman and Arthur Dowers took the Dutch on a tour of the refinery, but with only one goal: to dismantle everything as quickly as possible. According to Croes, this again reflects the Futuro agenda being pushed by Gerlien and Geoffrey.

“They don’t even want to hear about the OIL opportunity that currently exists due to regional changes and market vision,” Croes explained.

While multinationals are investing billions in our neighboring countries, the Government of Aruba prefers to close its eyes. MEP explained to the Dutch that Aruba could earn more than 80 million dollars per year simply by using our tanks to store oil (Tankfarm).

Conclusion

MP Endy Croes concluded by stating that Aruba’s wellbeing must come before party interests.

“We remain alert. It cannot be that a small party dictates the future of all of us simply because AVP lacks the courage to stand firm. We need a second economic pillar and we must protect our autonomy.”
