The Public Entity Bonaire has placed an information board at the Fishermen’s Pier in Playa Pabou. The unveiling of this board marks the official start of the maintenance works. The information board at the site provides a clear overview of what is taking place, why it is happening, and what the planning entails. Transparent communication and visibility of the work are central to this process.
A few weeks ago, it was announced that the contract for the maintenance of the pier had been signed and that the preparation phase had begun. In the meantime, the assignment has been awarded, the necessary materials have been ordered, and the work has started. With the placement of the information board, the Public Entity Bonaire aims to continue actively informing the community about the progress of the works.
The Fishermen’s Pier plays an important role in our community. For many fishermen, it is their daily workplace and source of income. In addition, fishing has its roots deeply anchored in Bonaire’s culture and traditions.
Commissioner Clark Abraham emphasized the importance of this moment. “We are pleased that we can realize this now for our fishermen and for our community. Our fishermen make a valuable contribution to our economy and to who we are as an island. They deserve safe and adequate facilities to carry out their work.”
The Public Entity Bonaire will continue to inform the community about further progress of the project. This maintenance is a positive and important step in strengthening our maritime infrastructure and in supporting our fishermen.
