The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) is pleased to announce that Carl Quant has been appointed as Area Director Europe. Carl will officially assume the position on April 1, 2026, and in his new role he will lead all strategies for the European market and stimulate Aruba’s tourism development in Europe.

The position of Area Director Europe was held for the past 15 years by Tirso Tromp, who worked with great passion, dedication, and energy. Upon his return to Aruba, Tirso will take on the role of Senior Business Manager at A.T.A. starting April 1, 2026, where he will continue to make a valuable contribution to the organization.

In his new role, Quant will work closely with the European team and strategic partners to further strengthen Aruba’s position on the continent. The focus will be on brand consistency for “Aruba,” sustainable relationships with partners, and attracting high-quality guests who identify with the values and character of the island.

Quant began his career in the hospitality sector in Aruba, working with various international hotel chains. His work with the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF) played an important role and contributed to his knowledge of nature conservation and responsible tourism. After moving to the Netherlands, he held various commercial and strategic positions in business and luxury hotels, allowing him to gain valuable experience in the European market. Carl continued his career at A.T.A. as Sales & Marketing Manager Europe, a position he will hold until March 30, 2026. His combination of international experience and deep connection to Aruba provides a solid foundation for his role as Area Director Europe.

“It is an honor for me to take on this responsibility. For me, Aruba is more than a destination; it is a place that offers a unique feeling of coming home. I am happy to work together with the team and our partners in Europe and to continue building strong relationships and positioning that reflect the quality and values of our island,” Carl Quant expressed.

CEO of A.T.A., Ronella Croes, also reflected on this transition: “Tirso Tromp represented Aruba in Europe with passion and dedication for many years. His commitment and love for the island have left a lasting mark, both within our team and among our partners. In his new role, he will continue to contribute significantly. With Carl Quant, we are building on a solid foundation. His people-focused approach, experience, and connection to Aruba give me great confidence in this next phase for Europe, a key region in Aruba’s diversification strategy.”
