Last Friday evening, the AVP–Futuro Cabinet gathered at the government center to symbolically mark the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year — the Christmas and holiday season.
In preparation for this festive time, the Bestuurskantoor has been beautifully decorated with traditional holiday ornaments and lights, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
At 7:00 p.m., Prime Minister Mike Eman, accompanied by Minister Wendrick Cicilia, officially lit the Christmas lights of the Bestuurskantoor.
This symbolic act represents the start of a season of hope, gratitude, and love for one another.
A special guest at the event was William Bergen Barlow, a young visitor from Ontario, Canada, whose trip to Aruba was made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation — fulfilling his dream of visiting the island for the first time.
The lighting ceremony serves as a reminder to continue sharing kindness, unity, and compassion with one another and within our community.
Each shining light symbolizes the hope we hold for a brighter future — for our country and for everyone who is part of the great Aruban family.
The Government of Aruba wishes all citizens a season filled with peace, love, and prosperity, and invites the people to celebrate the holidays in unity and mutual respect.
