Prime Minister Mike Eman met with several companies that provide dumpster rental services in preparation for the “National Day to Care for Aruba,” which will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the government and the private sector to ensure that enough dumpsters are available in different parts of Aruba during the campaign. This is to facilitate responsible waste management and contribute to a cleaner island during the national activity. Among the companies that participated in the meeting were SWC Waste Handling & Cleaning, My Container Storage & Dumpster Rental, Johnson’s Enterprises, F. Ruiz Sand Gravel & Equipment N.V., Serlimar, and Quebero Sandblast Painting & Scaffold Services.
After the meeting, we spoke with Alejandra Moreno of F. Ruiz Sand Gravel & Equipment N.V. and Luigi Rasmijn of My Container Storage & Dumpster Rental. They explained that both companies are working together to place waste collection containers in different areas of Aruba during the National Day to Care for Aruba, with the goal of making it easy for participants to dispose of their waste in an orderly manner. Moreno indicated that the initiative represents a good example of how the government and the private sector can join forces for the well-being of the community. According to Moreno, the people of Aruba have shown many times that we have a great desire to help each other—recently evidenced by what happened in Venezuela—and now is a good time to show the same commitment and love for our island. Moreno also emphasized that caring for Aruba is a shared responsibility, thinking not only of ourselves but also of future generations and the many visitors who enjoy our island. Rasmijn encouraged everyone to participate in the day, inviting family, friends, and colleagues to join in the national effort to make Aruba clean. According to Rasmijn, the campaign provides an opportunity to work together as a community and strengthen the awareness that keeping Aruba clean is a task for one and all.
Day to Care for Aruba “National Day to Care for Aruba” is a Government initiative that seeks to strengthen shared responsibility in caring for our island. With the slogan “For me. For you. For all of us,” the campaign invites citizens, companies, schools, clubs, foundations, and organizations to join forces in a major national cleanup action on Saturday, July 25.
During the July 25 action, every organization, company, or group of citizens can choose a specific site to clean. This could be, for example:
A neighborhood or street;
Around a house or business;
Near a community center;
Around a sports club;
A beach or other public area.
In addition to cleaning different areas around Aruba, the initiative aims to create greater awareness that caring for our environment is a responsibility we all share.
