President of the Eerste Kamer expressed appreciation for the open and constructive dialogue with Aruba

Government of Aruba strengthens institutional relationship with the Eerste Kamer

In continuation of the official visits to the Netherlands, Prime Minister Mike Eman, together with Minister Plenipotentiary Mildred Schwengle and a delegation from the Government of Aruba, met on Wednesday morning with the President of the Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal (the Dutch Senate), Mei Li Vos. The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, where dialogue was held on various relevant topics for the future of the Kingdom and the cooperation between Aruba and the Netherlands.

During the meeting, thoughts were exchanged regarding the importance of maintaining a relationship of mutual respect, open dialogue, and strategic cooperation within the framework of the Dutch Kingdom. Various economic and social challenges that Aruba faces were also discussed, along with the paths the Government of Aruba is following to achieve a more balanced and sustainable development. Additionally, they spoke about the importance of cooperation in the areas of research, innovation, governance, and strengthening our government institutions. The Government of Aruba shared its vision on the need to create new economic opportunities and sustainable development, such as the two MoUs signed with Wageningen University & Research, as well as between KLM, Royal Schiphol Group, and Queen Beatrix International Airport.

The meeting with the President of the Eerste Kamer is part of the official agenda of the Government of Aruba in the Netherlands, which aims to strengthen political, economic, and institutional relations between Aruba and different partners within the Kingdom.
