Warning to MP Stephany Sevinger: If you want to play political games just for the sake of talking, we can speak with facts (Feiten)

Endy Croes 3

In the ongoing parliamentary debate, MEP faction Member of Parliament Endy Croes once again reacted strongly against the opposition’s attempts to divert attention with personal insinuations. Croes emphasized that while the opposition wants to play political games, the MEP faction responds with concrete facts, documented in rulings issued by up to nine judges.

According to Croes, the 2.4 million florins in funds detected by the court originated from profits made on land sales. This money was declared verbeurd (confiscated) in the court rulings of the case.

Decision confirmed by 9 Judges

MP Endy Croes provided a breakdown to demonstrate the strength and validity of the ruling in this case, explaining that it was not the decision of a single judge:

“It was not just one judge; 9 judges made this decision: one in the first instance, three judges in the court of appeal, and later the exact same decision was confirmed by five judges in Cassation (Cassatie) in the Netherlands.”

Croes stressed that whenever MP Stephany Sevinger wants to come forward and play political games regarding personal or family matters, she will be confronted with official documents and rulings that explain the truth of what transpired to the public.

Citations from the ruling: Pages 37 and 38

To provide further details from the official ruling, Croes cited sections from pages 37 and 38, which discuss real estate and donations made:

  • Donations in the form of gifts: The ruling details donations in the form of a gift of 40,000 florins that went to the foundation of Benny Sevinger, father of opposition MP Stephany Sevinger.
  • Funding for a quinceañera party: Official documents also highlight a gift in the year 2012 amounting to 8,000 dollars to pay for the quinceañera party of this very same opposition MP.

However, MP Endy Croes reiterated once more that the father of the MEP leader retired many years ago and officially published that he is no longer a partner in the law firm where he worked.

Croes concluded with a clear warning:

“If you want to play games here, we have pages upon pages to keep reminding the public about your own person in this case. Sometimes we need to put a mirror in front of ourselves and look at who we are before pointing fingers at others.”
