Let us pause and recognize that not just near us, but all over the world, children and teenagers are under attack. Let us place this matter in God’s hands, because there are countries where minors are involved with alcohol, drugs, and street crime — children not even 12 years old caught in things that can destroy their lives.
We must not forget that every parent has a mandate from God to care for and guide their children. But not everyone pays attention to this: many let things slip out of control, many do not take their responsibilities seriously, some manipulate, and many are simply irresponsible.
The Bible says in Proverbs 29:15:
“The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.”
There is no excuse for raising a child without discipline. If a child grows up without order, his entire life will lack order. When the foundation is weak, the whole building is weak.
A child cannot grow up surrounded by harsh words and violence and be expected to turn out well, especially if parents do not give a good example of love and respect. A child needs something positive to hold on to.
If a parent cannot guide their child early on in God’s ways, they will see later in life how difficult it becomes to help that young person overcome the temptations that come their way.
Just as it is no longer a luxury for a child to have a phone, it should never become a luxury to guide a child in God’s path. A young person must know the truth, so he can be protected from the traps of the enemy.
Many divorces happen out of selfish desires of adults — especially when they forget what they promised before God and want ‘freedom’ to continue their own behavior. But they forget about the child, the youth, who needs guidance from both parents, and more importantly, a home under the same roof.
The separation of parents brings confusion and trauma to every child and every young person.
No matter how many courses are taken, no matter how many psychologists get involved — none of them can replace the love of a mother or father, nor the constant upbringing that parents must provide.
Who feels more for a child than the mother who gave birth to them? Who can love a child more than the father who helped bring them into the world? Let us be serious.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6
“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction will drive it far from him.”
— Proverbs 22:15
“Discipline your son while there is hope, and do not set your heart on putting him to death.”
— Proverbs 19:18
In Romans 1:28-30, it is written what happens to those who do not acknowledge God — therefore it is the duty of every parent to make every effort to raise their children according to God’s word; otherwise, we are simply carrying water to the sea.
Everyone has been awakened and can read what is written in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, and today we see these things happening daily.
The salvation of our children is essential.
