Mark Volmerink as the new head of the finance department: Public entity Bonaire brings local financial expertise to the organization

From 15 November the next Mr. Mark Volmerink becomes the new head of Finance department in public entity Bonaire.

With this public entity Bonaire brings a professional in the field of finance with a focus on results in the organization. Mark Volmerink has extensive experience in his professional field, in the Netherlands but also on Bonaire. For many years he was head of finance of the Bonaire School Community (SGB) and subsequently vice president of the board of directors. Prior to that time, he held various financial positions with various organizations, including in the Netherlands. Until his appointment to the public entity Bonaire he exercised some supervisory functions in various directives, among others in the Bonaire Real Estate Foundation.

The department will contribute to the development and execution of the strategic goals and management plans of the public entity Bonaire. It will also provide guidance on complex projects with political or social impact. In addition to the department’s integral management, it carries responsibility for among other things financial management on order, accountant-approved statements, planning and control cycles and reporting. The finance department is responsible for financial administration and management of local taxes.

Mark Volmerink grew up in Curaçao and studied accountancy in the Netherlands at HEAO and the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Since 2017 she works and lives in Bonaire.
