Minister Dowers in the Netherlands to Strengthen International Cooperation on Governance, Migration, and Infrastructure

Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transport, and Energy, Mr. Drs. Arthur Dowers, met with the Director-General of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), Barbara Wolfensberger.

The meeting focused on constructive dialogue and cooperation on topics relevant to strengthening relations within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During the discussion, ideas were exchanged regarding institutional coordination and opportunities for collaboration at the strategic level.

In addition, Minister Dowers held discussions with two policy officers from UNOPS, Anna Straatsma and Carlein Kuperus, regarding the new prison that is planned to be constructed in Aruba. During the dialogue, migration was also addressed, including the challenges and opportunities associated with managing migration flows.

These meetings reflect a broad and strategic approach to strengthening infrastructure, improving governance, and addressing important social issues that have a direct impact on Aruba.

Through meetings such as these, the Government continues to build a solid foundation of trust, respect, and cooperation—essential elements for achieving real and lasting progress for Aruba.
